چکیده

fi c a s o f bstract. Every type of color imaging device has its own color reroduction method, providing color characteristic information. Thus, color management system with an ICC profile is generally used to eproduce colors between two different color imaging devices, for xample, from a monitor to a printer. However, once the ICC profile f a device is measured and stored, it usually remains unchanged. et, a user can sometimes control the monitor configuration, such s the color temperature, contrast, and brightness, according to heir preference, thereby changing the color characteristics of the onitor. In addition, typical end user’s viewing condition is not atched to standard environment. In this case, if the user then rints an image on the monitor screen, the color of the printed image ill not match the color displayed on the monitor screen, as the color haracteristics of the ICC profile provided by the monitor manufacurer will no longer represent the user-configured color characterisics of the monitor. Therefore, this article proposes a method for ser-configured monitor-to-printer color reproduction based on an stimation of the monitor characteristics under user’s monitor conguration and viewing condition. First, the color characteristics acording to change of monitor configuration is measured and modled for the red-green-blue (RGB) chromaticity and tone curve. econd, to estimate the color characteristics of the user’s monitor, olor matching between a printed color chart and a reproduced color hart image on the monitor screen by soft proofing is accomplished. he RGB chromaticity and tone curve models are used in a soft roofing process for adjusting the monitor’s color characteristics. fter color matching, color characteristics of the user’s monitor are hen obtained. Finally, the monitor to printer color reproduction is valuated based on the color characteristics obtained for the monior. Experimental results using the proposed method show that the rinted images have almost the same colors as the images on the eal user-configured monitor screen. © 2011 Society for Imaging cience and Technology. Colour Management: Why and How

The purpose of this presentation is to stress the need for colour management whenever a computer is used for the acquisition, visualisation, or reproduction of coloured objects. By calibrating colour peripherals to a common standard, Colour Management System (CMS) software makes it easier to match the colours that are scanned to those that appear on the monitor and printer, and also to match co...

A New Representation for Device Color Gamuts

Introduction An important part of color reproduction is the rendering of colors onto display devices [1], where the colors may be spot colors (e.g., tints) or the colors of a digitized photograph. Display devices, such as monitors and printers, are capable of showing only a subset of all perceivable colors; this subset is called the device color gamut. Colors subjected to a reproduction system ...

Color Space Conversion via Gamut-Based Color Samples of Printer

Many types of electronic imaging devices are currently available, including color cathode ray tube (CRT) devices, ink jet printers, offset printing devices, thermal transfer printers, and all of these devices utilize devicedependent color spaces for color specification. However, device-dependent color spaces do not relate to an objective definition of color or human color perception. Therefore,...

Color Management for Color Facsimile

We propose a color management system for the color facsimile. It consists of protocols for the colorimetric calibration of the scanner and the printer by establishing the relationships between the device-dependent color coordinates and the device-independent CIELAB color space. The scanner calibration is based on 3rd order polynomial regression techniques. The printer calibration uses 3D triang...
